The 2024 edition of WOMEN afFAIR, our annual solidarity market at the Residenza Vignale, was a great success.
Three days where solidarity and beauty went hand in hand.
The beauty of the items on sale, the beauty of the place that hosted us, the beauty of the smiles on the faces of old friends who were able to meet again and new ones we were lucky enough to meet.
But above all, the beauty of the children, girls and women we have helped in India, to whom all this was dedicated.
Thanks to the commitment and dedication of the exhibitors and the companies that decided to support us, we raised a record amount, the highest ever: EUR 54,066.50.
And that’s not all! As many as 5 children found a sponsor and joined our distance learning programme!
None of this would have been possible if we had not had the support of our volunteer friends who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
As part of our solidarity review, we were also fortunate and honoured to host Carlo Pizzati, a writer and journalist who has lived in India for over thirteen years.
With him, and thanks to the support of Monica Mattiolo, editor of our magazine Insieme, we immersed ourselves in the life of women in India.
It was an important moment of reflection that allowed all those present to hear and put into context some of the more or less well-known episodes that have involved Indian women in recent years.
Carlo Pizzati writes for ‘Repubblica’, ‘La Stampa’, former author of ‘Report with Milena Gabanelli’ on Rai3, and has hosted ‘Omnibus’ on La7. His latest book ‘La tigre e il drone. Il continente indiano tra divinità e robot, rivoluzioni e crisi climatiche’, published by Marsilio editori s.p.a., won the “Gambrinus Mazzotti” literary prize.
