The Anganwadi are mother and child day-care centres mainly located in rural areas. These buildings, intended to accommodate children and support new mothers, are often old and unsanitary places, vulnerable to raids by dangerous animals. CARE TO ACTION is involved in renovating and securing these facilities in order to enable children to attend a sheltered school with functioning kitchen and toilets. It also organises activities such as the training of mothers and anganwandi staff to convey information on mother and child health and the nutritional status of children, thus preventing diseases linked to poor nutrition and hygiene.
Renovating anganwadi, making them safe places with toilets and access to water.
Giving children nutritious and balanced meals on a regular basis to prevent malnutrition.
Monitoring the nutritional status of children, encouraging specialised medical and nutritional care.
Providing training programmes for mothers, families and anganwadi staff on the basics of a balanced diet and hygiene practices.
Creating safe and secure spaces where mothers can leave their babies and at the same time learn proper hygiene and nutritional practices means giving concrete support today that will also influence the future. If you wish to make a large donation, providing all or part of the cost to renovate an anganwadi, please write to info@caretoaction.org or call +39 041.2443292.
Contribute to organise courses for mothers on correct nutritional practices
The Anga-Care project works to support the mothers, children and staff of the anganwadi located in rural areas by improving not only their structural aspect, but their educational one as well. Renovating these buildings, which are often unsafe and unhealthy, means enabling teachers and trainers toturn them into useful spaces ensuring education for the little ones, medical care for babies and mothers, and promoting the spread of good food practices, also for the future.
