CONCRETE SUPPORT FOR GIRLS AND WOMEN IN INDIA

Proceeds from the WOMEN afFAIR Solidarity Market bring important projects to life.

It has been about a month since WOMEN afFAIR, our annual solidarity fair for children, girls and women in South India, took place at the Residenza Vignale in Milan.

Thanks to the commitment and support of friends, volunteers, exhibiting companies and, of course, the support and generosity of the many visitors, this year’s edition raised a record amount, the highest so far (click here for more details).

With the help of Monica Mattiolo, editor-in-chief of our Insieme magazine and host of our ESPRESSO INDIANO podcast, who accompanied us on our recent trip to India, we are pleased to report on three different projects that have received funding and are already bearing fruit.

Anga-Care:

A project dedicated to women and mothers, especially from rural areas, which aims to support women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs) and provide training by professionals and experts in hygiene, horticulture, food and nutrition.

Power Skills:

Organisation of in-depth training for girls in their final year of college to facilitate and accelerate their entry into the world of work.

Prem Niketan:

Supporting and providing courses for girls with disabilities to make them as self-sufficient as possible.
