Ramana's kitchen

Every day, Ramana’s kitchen prepares over 60 meals for the 30 children enrolled in the two preschools we established for the Poosala and Pamula communities in Vijayawada, India.

A year ago, Ramana received a food cart through our women’s empowerment program, giving her the opportunity to start a small street food business.

Today, with the opening of the preschools, she uses her cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for the children every day.

Her story shows how a single opportunity can create many more: what began as a way to support Ramana now also helps the children and families in her community.

In the video, our General Director, Antonio Benci, shares Ramana’s story and explains how her kitchen has become a cornerstone for the children attending the two preschools in the slum.
