Power Skills at SRR & CVR Government Degree College, Vijayawada

We are at the SRR & CVR Government Degree College in Vijayawada.

At this government college, where 80% of the students come from families living below the poverty line, the School4Future – Power Skills project was launched a few days ago (the second, after the pilot project that has been running for some time at Maris Stella College, also in Vijayawada).

Pictured here are some of the students who attended the first Orientation Day, the first phase of our skills development programme for final year students.

During this introductory session, we covered several topics such as:

• The importance of acquiring technical skills that are directly applicable to different sectors
• What to expect after graduation and how to manage the transition from the academic to the professional world
• The world of work and how to adapt to a professional environment
• the benefits of being prepared for better employability and career opportunities.

An important opportunity for these girls and boys, a concrete support to help them achieve fulfilment and economic independence through work.
