Alviero Martini

Alviero Martini was born in Cuneo, where he studied as a visual merchandiser. He learned the cutting and sewing at the age of 14 and then became a costume designer and theatre actor.
In 1976 he starred with actor Vittorio Gassman in the movie “Affabulazione” by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
In 1987 he set up a shop display in Rome with a suitcase decorated with an old geographical map. That’s how he created his handbags collection Prima Classe, drawing international praise.

He is the creator of a new concept that blends travel and fashion. In 1996, he held a photographical exhibition on Tibet in his boutique at Via Montenapoleone, Milan, and Richard Gere attended as a guest of honor.

In 2006, Alviero Martini created an accessories brand called ALV (an acronym that stands for Andare Lontano Viaggiando, “going far travelling”).
Thanks to his hallmark – passport stamps printed on his handbags and suitcases – he was awarded with “The Look of the Year” in 2010.
He keeps creating new styles by melting the theme of travel, culture and fashion with a ground-breaking use of social media.
He has been actively involved with Care To Action since 2002. He has shown his dedication by organizing events all over Europe in order to promote our cause.
In these last years, he promoted the construction of children’s foster homes and is sponsoring 10 children.
In 2016 he was appointed member of our Steering Committee and joined Kabir Bedi during his Italian charity tour.
